I would like to inquire about the scars and removal results of an old sebaceous cyst surgery.

I have an old sebaceous cyst. I've been squeezing it for several years now to temporarily reduce its size, but it's not completely gone. People around me have told me that even with surgery, something this old might not disappear completely, so I'm a little worried. I've heard it might leave a noticeable scar or be bulging to the touch, but I'd like to know the actual extent of the problem.

I'm also wondering if a simple excision surgery is sufficient, or if there are other ways to minimize scarring.
