Managing seasonal flushing!

hello.

As the seasons change, you may have a lot of concerns about skin care. Today, I'm going to write a helpful article about managing 'redness'.

During the changing of seasons, rapid temperature changes and dryness can easily cause the skin's blood vessels to dilate, leading to severe redness. If left untreated, redness can become a chronic skin problem, so consistent 'lowering skin temperature' and 'strengthening the skin barrier' management are essential.

So, we looked into ways to reduce the factors that cause flushing and lower the skin temperature.

1. Reduce redness triggers

Because flushed skin is very sensitive to irritation, you should minimize factors that raise skin temperature or irritate it in your daily life.

Avoid hot water: Use lukewarm or slightly cool water when washing your face. Hot water dilates blood vessels, which can immediately worsen redness.

Avoid excessive saunas/heating devices: Sudden temperature changes can cause flushing. Avoid environments where skin temperature rises rapidly, such as hot baths, saunas, or in front of a stove.

Avoid irritating ingredients: For now, avoid using alcohol (ethanol), strong fragrances, and coarse-grained physical scrubs that can strip or irritate your skin.

2. Cooling method to lower skin temperature

Since flushing is basically caused by heat on the skin surface, it is important to remove internal heat.

Use a hypoallergenic gel cleanser: Use a gentle gel cleanser with moisturizing ingredients rather than a foam cleanser that foams excessively to wash your face while minimizing friction between your hands and skin.

Refrigerated Toner/Ampoule Usage: Refrigerate toner or soothing ampoule, then soak a cotton pad with it and place it on reddened cheeks or nose for about five minutes to use as a local cooling pack. (Be careful, as too cold can actually irritate the skin.)

When using a sheet mask: Store the sheet mask in the refrigerator before use to enhance its soothing effect on the skin.
