I'm losing my hair. Is it okay to dye my hair?

My hair loss is getting worse, and I'm incredibly worried. But I can't avoid dyeing my hair because of the graying.

Is it okay to dye my hair if I have hair loss? Are there any dyes or methods that are less irritating to the scalp?
