Are there any good treatments for sensitive skin?

Because I have sensitive skin, I'm always cautious about choosing a treatment. Sensitive skin can easily become red or breakout from even the slightest irritation, so I'm hesitant about strong lasers or peels. So, these days, I'm interested in low-irritation treatments and soothing treatments that are relatively safe for sensitive skin. I've heard that strengthening the skin barrier is especially important for sensitive skin. If you've had any successful treatments with sensitive skin, please share your experience.
