Are lifestyle habits that affect your skin closer than you think?

As I've been researching why my skin has become so sensitive lately, I've come to believe that lifestyle habits, rather than cosmetics, may be a bigger factor. Could things like drinking very little water all day or going straight to bed after showering also be contributing to skin problems? The busier I get, the more my basic routines fall apart, and whenever that happens, I feel like my skin-damaging lifestyle habits are immediately apparent. Conversely, I'm curious to know if changing even one small habit can positively impact your skin. If anyone has personally experienced a lifestyle change that impacted their skin, please share any stories.
