Gua Sha Massage Routine for Skin Care Routine: Puffiness Reduction and Line Management
On a friend's recommendation, I bought a gua sha and massaged it along my neck and jawline every night. At first, it felt a little painful, but after a few days of doing it, the swelling quickly subsided and I could see my facial lines becoming more defined. It's especially effective in reducing puffiness around my eyes when I wake up in the morning, so it's become a staple in my routine.
Before I do gua sha, I always use a steam towel to stimulate blood circulation in my face. I feel like this helps lymphatic drainage. After applying a generous amount of oil, I repeat the motion from behind my ears down to my collarbone. It feels refreshing, as if all the day's fatigue has melted away. Using a tool provides consistent pressure, making it much more effective than using a massage tool.
If you haven't tried gua sha yet, I recommend starting with an inexpensive tool and sticking with it. Just be careful not to apply too much pressure, as this can cause bruising. If you have a metal allergy, I recommend using ceramic. What oils or creams do you use when doing gua sha? Could you recommend any products that are effective in reducing swelling?
