We personally analyzed why excessive exfoliation hinders elasticity management.
To cut to the chase, excessive physical exfoliation completely nullifies the effectiveness of expensive elasticity-managing cosmetics. Just coming out of the bathroom, my entire face is flushed and stings at the slightest touch, so I have to admit that my home care hypothesis today was completely wrong. Lately, I've noticed a significant loss of elasticity around my eyes and mouth, so I figured exfoliating the dead skin cells would allow the ingredients to penetrate deeper. However, my analysis revealed that excessive scrubbing only causes the skin barrier to break down, leading to an "abnormally sensitive state" that renders even highly concentrated nutrients ineffective. My photos for documentation show a typical disruption in the oil-water balance: the surface of my skin is excessively shiny, while the inside feels tight. For the time being, I'll put away high-performance ampoules and anti-aging creams and focus on soothing with ingredients similar to my skin's lipid structure, such as ceramides and panthenol. I'll also keep a daily record of my skin's condition. No matter how effective elasticity-managing cosmetics are, if the skin's foundation is damaged, their effectiveness is reduced to zero. I've personally proven this to myself today. If you're like me, desperately trying harsh peels or scrubs, stop now. Remember the data that shows skin barrier repair is the top priority.
