It's dangerous outside my front door. I'm scared that all the moisture will be sucked out of my skin.
The moment I step outside the front door, the hot air hits me, making it hard to breathe. Even just a short walk causes beads of sweat to form on my philtrum and forehead. Do you, like me, have sensitive skin? I was fidgeting in the mirror earlier because I thought my face was already flushed. People say it's especially important to hydrate at times like these, but even though I know drinking plenty of water is the right answer, I keep forgetting and reaching for iced coffee. Ever since I heard that caffeine further dehydrates the skin, my heart sinks with every sip. They say even the smallest of daily habits can have a negative impact on your skin, so I've been trying to keep a water bottle handy these days. While applying a face mask after a long day is important, I'm also worried that if I lack the moisture I need from within, my skin barrier will collapse. Are there any of you who are as timid as I am, losing sleep at the slightest sign of skin trouble? I really just hope this brutal heat wave passes quickly. It's embarrassing to see myself struggling to hold on to all the moisture I'm losing through sweat, but I can't just sit by and watch my skin get damaged. I hope everyone drinks a glass of cold water and gets through this summer safely.
