The unexpected comfort of an empty bottle of moisturizing cream
Before I knew it, the clock was striking 8:55. I sat quietly at my vanity, listening to the winter wind whistling outside. On winter evenings, when my skin feels particularly tight and melancholy, I find myself examining myself in the mirror even more closely. Then, I suddenly spotted a moisturizing cream bottle, its bottom exposed. Why does that transparent, empty bottle look so pretty? My diligence in applying it every morning and evening to combat dryness seemed to be completely trapped inside, and for some reason, my nose stung.
To others, it might just be a used-up cosmetic, but to me, it feels like a warm, comforting reminder to myself to endure the harsh season. In fact, these small habits, each one of them, ultimately contribute to my health. My smooth skin seems to tell me that those hours spent soothing myself with a warm cup of tea and protecting my skin with moisturizer weren't wasted. Tonight, I'll replenish my inner and outer self, fully wrapping up the day. I hope your nights are just as fulfilling and peaceful.
