I finally have a long-awaited blind date tomorrow, so I'm super excited right now. Honestly, I was so distracted today that I forgot to take my vitamins, but when I looked in the mirror, I sighed. The winter wind and the heater were hitting my face so hard, it was a total mess.

On days like this, I need to stop thinking about other things and use all my usual skincare products to provide first aid. I tend to be a bit cold-hearted, so I don't usually buy into hyped-up products, but the routine I've been following for years never fails. First, I gently open my pores with a warm, steamed towel, then apply two to three times the amount of highly concentrated ampoule I normally use. Then, I top it off with a thick layer of highly moisturizing cream, almost like a face pack, and I'm ready to go.

No matter how exciting a date you're having, if your face is puffy, you somehow lose confidence. I really hope my makeup goes on flawlessly tomorrow. I think hydration from within is more important than fancy makeup techniques, so I'm consciously drinking more water tonight than usual. It can be a hassle sometimes, but when I focus on this before a big day, I can definitely feel the difference in my complexion the next day.
