Let me introduce you to my go-to skin moisturizer for the dry winter months: jojoba oil and Vaseline!
My skin is naturally dry and sebum-producing, but in the winter, it becomes so dry it feels like it's going to rip. Even after applying cream, my skin would quickly tighten again, which was a pain. But since using jojoba oil and Vaseline, I've been suffering from dry skin even in the winter much less. My skin is dry, but it also has pores, sebum, and breakouts, so if I don't use face oil properly, my face can get itchy or breakouts, but jojoba oil works well. At the end of my basic skincare routine, I rub some on my palms and gently press it onto my face, as if wrapping it around my face. This keeps it moisturized for a long time. And if it still feels dry even after using jojoba oil, I always use Vaseline. I don't use Vaseline all over my face, but I use it sparingly on areas that feel tight. I usually apply a thin layer to areas like under my eyes and cheekbones that dry out quickly after applying cream. This helps reduce the tightness and makes my skin feel more comfortable.
For those of you who suffer from tight skin like me, I recommend jojoba oil and Vaseline. Vaseline, in particular, seems to be the best for acne-prone skin when used properly.
