It's already well past 11:20 PM. I lay down to sleep, but my lips are so dry they feel like they're about to split, and I can't find any lip balm. Perhaps it's the cold winter wind that's already cracking the corners of my lips, but I've searched the entire room and can't find any, leaving me feeling despondent. But then I realized I'd only had coffee, not water, all day. I'd been looking for something to moisturize my skin, neglecting the inner care that would replenish my moisture. My lips are so parched, which is a sign of an imbalance in my body, and I'm so heartbroken that I've been relying solely on lip balm. It's made me realize how important it is to drink a few more glasses of water a day and get plenty of rest, rather than buying another expensive moisturizer. For now, I'm just filling a glass of warm water and drinking it. I hope you too will focus on the basics that fill you, rather than focusing on outward appearances.
