My skin after a cold, dry winter night...

It's already pitch dark outside. It's past 9 p.m., and it's a winter night, and even the air inside the room feels chilly. The cold wind I was hit with on my way home from going out today was so harsh that when I looked in the mirror, my cheeks were not only flushed but also chapped and stinging. I guess my skin must have been really tired from walking in the cold wind. At times like these, I feel the importance of small daily habits, rather than grand treatments. First, as soon as I got home, I drank a glass of lukewarm water to gently raise my body temperature. When my skin is this sensitive, it's more important to quench its thirst internally than to apply anything on the surface. I also turned up the humidifier setting a little higher than usual, and after washing my face, I put in more effort than usual to apply a thin layer of moisturizer before it completely dries. I was afraid that even wiping it off with a cotton pad would irritate it, so today I just used the warmth of my palm to gently press it against my skin. As the night deepens, the fever seems to be gradually subsiding, and my heart feels much lighter. I hope everyone, especially on those particularly windy days, takes a break and nurtures their tired skin with their own gentle routine. I hope to embrace the quiet winter air under a cozy blanket, and wake up tomorrow with a face a little more vibrant and healthy than today.
