It's a serious night, my eyes are slippery and my skin is hot.

It's already past 10 p.m. Looking out the window, I see a lot of snow piled up, and the ground looks slippery enough to make my commute to work tomorrow morning seem a bit shaky. Everyone, please be careful where you walk tomorrow. On my way home, I stopped by a convenience store to pick up some buy-one-get-one-free items, but when I looked in the mirror, I realized my face was more in need of something to eat. Perhaps it's because the weather's gotten colder and I've been turning up the indoor heater, but my already sensitive skin is red and visibly dry. It's so irritating that it's almost burning, so today, even after washing my face, I can't just slather on any product. I'm going to meticulously research soothing ingredients and keep a record of my skin. The area around my nose and both cheeks is particularly red and flaky, and I'm worried that my skin barrier has been severely compromised. Normally, I'd just let it slide, but in these winter months, with the extreme temperature swings, a single lapse in carelessness can lead to irreversible breakouts, so I'm being extra careful. Even choosing a single cosmetic product, I carefully check for irritation and focus solely on the small changes in my skin. This quiet time somehow feels more soothing than usual. I'll go to bed early, hoping that my sensitivity will have calmed down a little by tomorrow morning.
