What are some great tips for skin moisture management?!
With the weather being so dry these days, many of you are probably worried about your skin feeling tight and flaky. I used to suffer from severe dryness inside, which would quickly dry out no matter how expensive the cream I applied. But after changing my routine, things have improved dramatically. I'll share a few small but effective tips I've been practicing.
First and foremost, the golden time after washing your face is crucial. The moment you wash your face and dry it with a towel, your skin begins to lose moisture. So, instead of rubbing my face hard with a towel, I just gently pat it dry, then immediately apply toner in the bathroom. The key is to think "within 30 seconds," not "within 3 minutes," and replenish moisture immediately.
When applying cosmetics, it's much more effective to apply thin layers of product rather than applying a thick layer all at once. Try applying a thin toner or essence in small amounts two or three times. Applying too much at once can easily cause the product to sit on the surface, but layering like this will help your skin feel deeply hydrated.
Once you've hydrated your skin, you need to create a moisture barrier. If you only apply a moisturizing cream, the moisture can quickly evaporate into the air. In the final step, applying a slightly oily cream or mixing in a drop of face oil will help lock in the moisture, preventing it from escaping.
Lastly, lifestyle habits can't be ignored. Just using lukewarm water instead of hot water when washing your face and running a humidifier while you sleep to adjust the indoor humidity can make a huge difference in your skin condition when you wake up in the morning.
