My eyes are slippery and my skin is flaky... Is there anyone else who is worried about their skin being tight like me?
I just saw the news and it looks like the roads will be completely frozen tomorrow morning... Even on my way home from work, I gripped my bag straps tightly, afraid I'd trip because the roads were so slippery, so I walked like a turtle, and now my whole body is sore this evening. I'm a worrier, so I'm scared to even go outside on days like this. But even now that I'm home, I'm not entirely at ease. With the heater always on, my eyes are dry, my lips are so dry that I can see the dead skin cells forming. At this age, even the slightest bit of cold weather makes my face feel like it's cracking, and I'm really scared to look in the mirror.
So after much thought, I've been trying to make some changes to my lifestyle these days. It's nothing grand, but I've been cutting back on coffee and trying to drink lukewarm water more often. Since plain water doesn't go down well, I sometimes brew weak tea. By consciously trying to fill myself from the inside out, I've noticed I feel less bloated than before. I've also made it a habit to double-check the humidifier before bed and hang an extra towel by my bedside.
It's snowy outside, and the roads are slippery and scary, but we need to keep our skin moisturized and hydrated. I'm worried I might be taking things too lightly. I'm curious to know what routines other members use at home to combat dryness this winter. Even if it's just a small tip, sharing it with me would be a huge comfort to someone like me!
