I was fussing over my shoelaces on a cold night... and then I stopped when I saw my face in the mirror.
I don't know why it's so cold and windy out here tonight, when I went to the convenience store. My shoelaces kept coming undone, so I had to sit down on the street several times to tie them... My hands were cold and my mind was in a hurry, and even my shoelaces were a problem. I can't tell you how much I was internally frustrated. I came home grumbling like that and looked in the hallway mirror, and for a moment, I was a little embarrassed by my face. Maybe it was because I was hit head-on by the cold wind, but my complexion was dull and my mouth and eyes were dry. It was quite a sight.
Even though I've been applying ampoule generously and paying close attention to moisturizing since it's been such a harsh winter, I've been wondering if just superficial care won't solve anything. I'm also a bit annoyed that my skin looks so dull today. So today, I'm going to start taking detailed photos of my skin and keeping a detailed record of it. In the past, I'd just think, "It's been a bit rough lately," and move on, but now I feel like I need data to pinpoint exactly what's lacking in what environment.
Are you all diligently taking care of your skin from the inside out? I looked in the mirror today and realized the limitations of the cosmetics I use. I'm deeply concerned that my skin seems to lack something fundamental, something that nourishes my body from within. People around me say that taking collagen or nutritional supplements definitely reduces tightness after washing my face the next day, but I'm really curious to see if there's a real, meaningful difference. I'd love to hear about your skincare routine, or if anyone else, like me, meticulously records their skin condition every day. I'll be able to sleep well tonight only after this curiosity is satisfied.
