It's past 10 p.m., and my skin feels noticeably itchy and sensitive, perhaps because of the indoor heater. I find myself scratching, and the skin beneath my fingertips feels rough. Worst of all, my complexion in the mirror looks as pale as the winter weather, if not dull. Honestly, I've been so preoccupied with the redness caused by the cold wind that I've neglected it for a while, but after looking in the mirror, I'm convinced it's time to re-evaluate my whitening routine.
First, I noted that higher skin temperature can stimulate melanin synthesis, so I lowered the room temperature slightly and started with soothing treatments to reduce fever. One of the most elaborate whitening routines I've implemented is analyzing the ratio of niacinamide and vitamin derivatives and layering them accordingly. Rather than simply applying trendy products, I found that gradually improving skin tone without compromising my skin's moisture barrier was the most logical solution for my skin.
