A review of a month of washing my face with water after skipping foam cleansing in the morning.
I have oily skin, so I'm the type of person who has to scrub my face clean in the morning to feel better.
But as I got older, at some point, I noticed my face getting tight and red after washing. I was watching a dermatologist's YouTube channel and heard that washing your face with just water in the morning is good for your skin barrier, so I tried it with some skepticism. For the first few days, it felt like I wasn't fully cleansing and it was uncomfortable, so it was hard to endure, but I persevered and maintained a routine of rinsing with lukewarm water several times. The results are incredibly satisfying! First of all, the oils I had when I woke up in the morning act as a natural protective barrier, so my skin feels much less dry throughout the day. And my redness has also subsided significantly. Of course, I double-wash my face thoroughly in the evening, but I think it's important to give your skin a rest in the morning.
I am personally experiencing that excessive cleansing can actually be toxic.
