I started checking my skin condition after I turned 30.
When I was in my 20s, even if I had breakouts, they would naturally subside after a few days. But now that I'm in my 30s, my skin doesn't recover as easily as it used to. So these days, instead of just dismissing them as "It'll be okay," I try to take a more measured approach to my skin.
After washing my face in the morning, I check my skin texture first. On days when makeup goes on well, my skin is in good condition, while on days when it feels particularly irritable, it's because I didn't get enough sleep or was dehydrated the day before. I also check to see if my skin feels less elastic than before. It bothers me when I see fine lines and wrinkles when I smile.
Also, on days when my skin tone looks dull, I consider whether I'm stressed. Now I realize that skin isn't just a superficial issue. I feel like it's all connected to my lifestyle, my physical condition, and my state of mind.
These days, rather than switching out cosmetics, I try to listen to the signals my skin sends me. Skin in your 30s is honest, and I believe it returns as much as you take care of it. How often do you check your skin these days?
