My routine for reducing swelling the day after drinking
Yesterday, I had samgyeopsal (pork belly) and soju at a company dinner, and this morning, when I looked in the mirror, my face was puffy, almost like a bun. In the past, a quick wash with cold water would immediately make the puffiness go away, but these days, maybe because of my age, my face is still puffy even after lunch, and it's so embarrassing.
So, the day after drinking, I always wake up about 30 minutes earlier than usual. First, I make a face pack with the green tea bag I've steeped in the fridge. The cold water instantly refreshes me, and it's also incredibly effective at reducing puffiness. Then, when I apply my basic skincare routine, I use a gua sha (a Korean massage brush) to vigorously rub my jawline and the lymph nodes behind my ears. Honestly, it hurts a little, but I feel incredibly refreshed after enduring it.
After work, instead of my usual coffee, I continue to drink corn silk tea or red bean water from my tumbler. Frequent bathroom visits are a bit of a hassle, but by 3 p.m., I can feel my jawline starting to come back to life. Office workers, don't just take care of your hangover, take care of your skin, too!
