Neck wrinkles are especially bothersome under the winter sun... My personal home care log.
It's almost midnight now, and the winter sunlight streaming through the window is so clear and pretty...
But as I looked in the mirror under that bright light, I suddenly noticed a distinct wrinkle on my neck, and my heart sank. I hadn't noticed it before, but as the weather gets colder and drier, I can feel my skin losing its elasticity. It seems to get worse in the winter, especially because of the indoor heaters, so I've been diligently focusing on my after-work home care routine. In the past, I'd just lather up a quick moisturizer and go to bed, but now I feel compelled to meticulously care for my skin from my neck to my collarbone. My daily home care routine is simpler than you might think, but consistency is my biggest asset. I start by gently relaxing my neck with a warm steam towel, then apply a generous amount of a firming cream that's a little more nutritious than what I usually use on my face. Then, I gently massage it in upward motions. Even just ten minutes like this makes my skin feel noticeably smoother the next day. These days, I'm really starting to realize that winter home care isn't an option, it's a necessity. Like the falling leaves outside, our skin can easily dry out. The end of the year is exciting and hectic, but this short time spent focusing solely on myself feels like the most lyrical and precious respite for me. How are you pampering yourself this afternoon?
Let's talk about even the smallest habits.
