My Guide to Mastering Home Modeling Packs That Rival Dermatology Clinic Esthetics

Hi haha. You all know those cold rubber masks that are always applied as the final step of treatments at dermatology clinics or aesthetic centers, right? I heard that modeling pack is the best for soothing effects, so I finally brought a large size home myself haha. In the past, I never even tried it because I thought mixing the powder with water, applying it to my face, and cleaning up afterwards would be too much of a hassle. However, my skin has been breaking out and feeling really hot lately, so after seeing reviews saying there is nothing better for home care, I decided to take a chance and bought one with a high diatomaceous earth content. ㅠㅠ

The first time I tried it, it was a total disaster lol. I messed up the water ratio so it turned out way too watery; as soon as I put it on my face, it just dripped down my chin and stuck to my hair—it was absolute chaos ㅠㅠ. The powder was flying around so much that my vanity was covered in white powder. So, starting from the second attempt, I watched tons of YouTube videos with tips on getting the right consistency for modeling masks, and practiced adjusting the viscosity by mixing in ampoules or cooling toners specifically for modeling masks instead of water haha. I also learned that you have to apply a thick layer starting from the cheeks and thickly along the edges so that it peels off cleanly in one go later lol.

Lately, I've gotten the hang of it, so I do this about two or three times a week in the evening, and the soothing effect is seriously amazing. After cleansing and just prepping my skin with toner, I generously apply an expensive ampoule—something I usually didn't see much effect from—and then place the cold modeling mask right on. Since the mask blocks out the air, it feels like the ampoule is being absorbed deep into my skin. When I take it off after 20 minutes, my face temperature has dropped significantly, and I can visibly see my pores have shrunk. The redness has subsided a lot, and the next day, my skin texture feels incredibly firm and supple. If you just put in a little bit of the hassle and investment, you can see results that rival a professional aesthetic clinic, so I highly recommend that anyone who hasn't tried a modeling mask give it a try. It's a total game changer!
