Maybe it's because of the changing seasons, but lately I can really feel my skin becoming sensitive and dry and rough.
I’ve developed my own skincare routine, so I wanted to share it on the beauty forum. It’s nothing fancy; the key is consistency, gentleness, and hydration!
They say that during transitional seasons like this, the skin barrier easily breaks down due to drastic temperature changes compounded by fine dust. That is why I tend to start with the gentlest cleansing method possible. In the morning, I mainly rinse with water, and in the evening, I wash lightly using only a mild, pH-balanced cleanser. I've found that managing my skin with the mindset of "protecting the skin's protective barrier," rather than the feeling of getting a squeaky-clean wash, keeps it much less dry.
And the most important thing is moisture layering.
Instead of applying a large amount of toner at once, I apply it lightly in 2 to 3 separate applications to allow for absorption. This helps the skin retain moisture for a longer period, significantly reducing inner dryness. Afterwards, I replenish moisture once more with a serum or ampoule, and finally lock in the skin with a cream.
Lately, I've been paying particular attention to "barrier care" products. I've found that during the change of seasons, it's more important to strengthen the skin's protective barrier than just replenishing moisture. I'm mainly using products containing ingredients like ceramide or panthenol.
And surprisingly, managing indoor humidity was also important. Just turning on a humidifier or hanging a wet towel significantly reduced skin tightness, so I really felt the difference.
Finally, the real secret tip is to “avoid excessively switching between different products.” Since your skin is already sensitive during the change of seasons, changing products too often actually caused it to break out. I found that keeping things simple with a minimal routine was the most effective.
