It seems like my skin sends a signal right away when I overexert myself.
When I looked in the mirror this morning, my skin looked really dry and dull, which made me feel down for no reason. I definitely tried my best with my skincare yesterday, but my skin looked lifeless overall and the texture seemed rough. The dryness was particularly intense on my cheeks and chin, so my makeup didn't apply nicely. Usually, just applying a light layer of cushion foundation makes my skin look radiant, but today it caked so badly that I had to touch it up several times.
Come to think of it, it really shows that I've been staying up late and not drinking enough water lately. Since I've been constantly exposed to the air conditioner, it feels like all the moisture has drained deep into my skin. Because my skin looks dry and rough, my complexion looks dull, and I look tired for no reason, so I was even more concerned. I realized once again that skin condition is directly affected by lifestyle habits.
So today, I focused on taking care of my skin to minimize irritation. I washed my face briefly with lukewarm water and layered a hydrating toner several times. I applied more cream than usual and even put on a moisturizing mask. I definitely think that when skin feels dry and dull, replenishing basic hydration is the most important thing, rather than using a lot of different functional products.
I try to drink plenty of water and go to bed early in the evening. Even though my skin doesn't improve dramatically overnight, I've found that getting proper sleep and staying hydrated helps it look a bit better the next day. Looking at my skin today, I realized I need to get back to managing my lifestyle. It seems like my skin sends me immediate signals if I push myself too hard.
