My personal morning water cleansing method that tackles both redness and inner dryness simultaneously
My skin is thin and very sensitive, so for several years I have insisted on washing my face only with plain water in the morning without using any cleansing products.
I read in a book that the sebum secreted on my face overnight isn't dirty waste, but rather acts as a natural protective barrier that strengthens and protects my skin.
So when I wake up in the morning, I rinse my face thoroughly more than ten times with only clean, lukewarm water, gently removing only the dust that accumulated overnight.
When I first started this water-based cleansing method, since I wasn't using a foam cleanser, a slippery feeling remained on my skin, making me feel very uncomfortable as if my face hadn't been washed properly.
However, I endured it and practiced it consistently for about a month, and even when I dried my face with a towel immediately after washing it, my face did not feel tight or stinging at all.
On the contrary, as my skin barrier strengthened, the chronic redness that used to easily turn red and break out with every temperature change has miraculously subsided a lot.
Of course, since I need to thoroughly remove sunscreen and base makeup in the evening, I use a mild cleansing milk to gently double cleanse.
The key to morning water cleansing is to use lukewarm water at a moderate temperature—neither too hot nor too cold—to avoid heat irritation to the skin.
For me, this small habit of preserving my skin's natural moisture in the morning is the best skincare secret, rather than reapplying expensive nourishing cream.
If you usually suffer from redness and dryness after washing your face, I highly recommend you try the water-only face wash method tomorrow morning!
