I'm documenting my skin condition today; it's the drier and flabbier it's ever been ㅠㅠ Is everyone okay with the fine dust attack?
How was your day, everyone? When I got home from work and looked in the mirror, my face looked so miserable that I let out a deep sigh. The fine dust and yellow dust have been really bad for the past few days, and it feels like my skin took a direct hit. Even though I did my skincare thoroughly and put a lot of effort into my makeup this morning, by the afternoon, the office heater air had blown all the moisture out of my skin, and the fine dust had stuck to the surface, making my face itchy.
When I got home and started rolling my face with cleansing oil, my skin felt much rougher than usual. Sure enough, after washing my face and looking in the mirror, my butterfly zone was flushed red, and I could see tiny pimples starting to pop up on my chin and forehead. ㅠㅠ When I touch it, the texture feels as rough as sandpaper, which is really stressing me out. On top of that, why is there so much white flaking around my nose...? It feels like I can hear the sound of my skin barrier crumbling all the way from here. lol
Knowing that the absolute answer in times like this is to lower skin temperature and replenish moisture without irritation, I skipped exfoliation and went straight into super-soothing mode today. First, I applied a very thick layer of chilled aloe gel all over my face like a sleeping mask and left it on for about 15 minutes to completely draw out the heat. After that, I lightly rinsed it off with water and layered a viscous panthenol toner about three times to fully replenish moisture from deep within. Finally, I mixed a drop of jojoba oil into a ceramide barrier cream and finished by pressing it firmly onto my entire face with my palms, as if cupping it.
The redness has subsided a bit after doing this first aid, but I am desperately praying that it doesn't spread into breakouts when I wake up tomorrow morning ㅠㅠ. The weather has been so unpredictable lately that it's hard to choose what to wear, but I think taking care of my skin is the hardest part. It would be so nice to go to a dermatologist and get a full soothing treatment like LDM right now, but it's a shame I don't have time to go right now. How do you all do your skincare after going out on days with such severe fine dust? If you have any super effective tips for when your skin turns red and breaks out like mine, please share them like crazy in the comments!! Hoping my skin condition recovers by tomorrow, I'll end today's entry here haha.
