I'm curious about sideburn removal.

Now that I’m in my 30s, I’m writing to ask for advice because the hair around my sideburns, which I didn't really pay attention to before, has been catching my eye lately. When I tie my hair up or tuck it behind my ears, the sideburns look thicker than I expected, so I want to trim them neatly. However, I’m worried that if I shave, the hair grows back quickly, and the shaved area feels rough.
