Review of switching from sticking to washing my face with water in the morning to using cleansing water
I heard that you absolutely must wash your face with only water in the morning to protect your skin barrier, so I did that for several months. However, perhaps because my skin is combination (oily T-zone, dry cheeks), the sebum and dirt that accumulated overnight weren't being properly removed, and my whiteheads actually got worse. So, I recently changed my morning cleansing routine, and it's a total lifesaver! When I wake up, I generously soak a cotton pad with mild cleansing water and gently wipe only the oily areas, like the T-zone and the sides of the nose. I just lightly brush over the U-zone. After that, I rinse with lukewarm water; this method protects my skin barrier while cleanly removing the impurities that accumulated overnight, so my makeup applies much better in the morning. If you have trouble with just washing your face with water, you definitely have to try this!
