Sharing my skin condition care routine for the changing seasons!
Is everyone getting through the change of seasons safely? Lately, my face felt tight just from washing it, and it would occasionally turn red, so it was a total emergency. ㅠㅠ So these days, I’ve put aside all the fancy functional products and am going all-in on 'soothing' and 'strengthening the skin barrier.' My condition has improved quite a bit, so I thought I’d share my routine!
First off, I paid extra attention to washing my face. Even when I felt the temptation to scrub it squeaky clean, I held back. I wash my face very gently with a mildly acidic cleanser, as if I were handling a baby. Hot water is absolutely forbidden! The key is to lightly splash around with only lukewarm water.
Immediately after washing my face, I apply a water toner two or three times to build up moisture deep within, and on days when my skin feels particularly stinging, I find that sticking a pad containing Cica to my cheeks soothes it quickly.
Finally, I lock in a moisture barrier with a cream containing ceramide or panthenol. If it feels too dry, I mix in a drop of face oil; doing this keeps my skin firm and bouncy until the next morning. Haha.
It might seem like a small thing, but just sticking to the basics definitely seems to make my skin less sensitive! If anyone has skin concerns during the changing seasons, let's chat in the comments. :)
