Are there any precautions my high school son should take before getting an acne treatment?

My high school son is under a lot of stress because breakouts keep appearing on his face. So, I'm thinking of taking him for an acne treatment this weekend. I'm not very knowledgeable about this kind of thing, so are there any precautions my son should be aware of before and after the procedure? Like how he should wash his face or if he absolutely must apply sunscreen. Since it's his first time getting an acne treatment, I want to be there to look after him meticulously to prevent any complications, but I don't know what to ask, so I'm asking experienced moms out there. Please share lots of tips on what to keep in mind before we go to the clinic. 🥰
