How often do people who get Botox for frown lines go?
I have a bad habit of frowning intensely without even realizing it whenever I look at a computer monitor or concentrate on work. ㅜㅜ In the past, my brows would smooth out quickly, but lately, when I look in the mirror, I've noticed a distinct vertical wrinkle has started to settle right between my eyebrows, shaped like the Chinese character for "river" (川). Haha. When I apply makeup, the foundation cracks exactly along the shape of that wrinkle, which looks really awful. Even when I'm just standing still, I look fierce, like I'm angry, so I'm seriously stressed out about it. Haha.
When I confided in my friends and acquaintances, they all told me that the best thing to do is to prevent it by getting Botox as soon as possible before the wrinkles sink deep and harden like scars. To be honest, I’ve never gotten muscle-paralyzing Botox before because I’m afraid my facial muscle movements will become unnatural. I’m absolutely worried that my eyebrows might look like samurai eyebrows when I make expressions or that my eyes will feel heavy to open, but I heard that if I go to a good clinic and get the dosage adjusted properly, they can smooth out naturally, so I’m going to give it a try.
And what I'm most curious about is, how long does the tightness usually last after getting this injection? I've heard that the duration varies quite a bit depending on individual muscle usage and lifestyle habits, so I'm curious to hear your experiences on how often you need to get re-injected to maintain it. Haha. I've also heard that getting it too often leads to tolerance and the effect diminishing over time, so I think I need to be careful when choosing a hospital and selecting the type of medication.
Anyway, I’ve painfully realized that you can’t turn back wrinkles that have already started forming, no matter how much cosmetics you apply. So, I’ve firmly made up my mind to get a Botox consultation and pay for it right away this week haha. I want to start taking care of myself before it’s too late and get rid of that angry look haha. If anyone else has been worried about frown lines like me, please let me know some tips on what to watch out for when visiting the clinic! I’ll get the Botox soon and leave a detailed review to see if my expression looks really natural haha.
