Acne treatment pain... Why is it so scary?

The pain from acne treatments is truly immense.

Lately, I keep getting inflammatory pimples and pus-filled acne on my face, so I am considering getting acne treatments at a dermatology clinic, but I am hesitating because of the pain. How painful are each of these treatments, such as extraction, chemical peels, PDT lasers, and Fraxel?

Extraction, the highlight of acne treatments, seems like it would be the most painful since it involves squeezing by hand. Is it actually just a stinging sensation, or does it feel like bleeding or tearing?

I am curious whether the procedure covers the entire face or if it is possible to select specific areas, and I would also like to know how the pain level would be on a scale of 1 to 10.

I also wonder if the lingering numbness or throbbing pain goes away for a few days after the treatment!
