It turns out the type of moisturizing cream wasn't the problem. Use plenty of it.
I kept switching creams because I felt like my skin wasn't moisturizing enough, but actually, the problem wasn't the product itself. It was that I was applying too little. I repeated the process of applying just a tiny bit to the surface and patting it in to absorb, but the tight, dry feeling in my skin wouldn't go away.
I changed my routine after hearing somewhere that you need to use a sufficient amount of basic skincare products for them to be effective. After cleansing, I soak a cotton pad with toner and wipe my face, apply the ampoule in two layers, and put on a surprisingly generous amount of cream. Since switching to this method, my inner dryness has decreased noticeably.
I felt it was a bit of a waste of money to spend on a new one while just blaming the product. I think the priority is to make good use of what I have now.
