I am a case where my skin's resilience has definitely improved since I started paying attention to my diet, even though what I apply is important. In the past, I used to only look for expensive essences, but these days, I make sure to drink a glass of warm water and take collagen and Vitamin C every morning. Also, since I have minimized sugary drinks and tried to drink nearly 2 liters of water a day, the unevenness of my skin has noticeably decreased. It feels like it is filling in from the inside rather than just making the surface shiny, so my skin looks much healthier.
