The Aesthetics of 'Emptying,' the Most Important Part of My Personal Skincare Routine
Believing that emptying is just as important as filling in skincare, I revamped my personal skincare routine to be minimal. Instead of applying too many products, I finish with just a single essential toner and cream, creating space for my skin to breathe. This home care approach has actually yielded positive results, lowering skin sensitivity and boosting its natural regenerative power. The microfiber cleansing towel I use is considered one of my absolute favorite skincare items. It is an excellent tool that gently removes impurities from areas easily missed when washing with just my hands, such as around the nostrils and under the chin. It occupies such a central place in my skincare routine that I emphasize the difference in skin texture depending on whether I use this towel or not whenever I write cosmetic reviews. Checking my skin condition these days, I feel that the saying "too much of a good thing is bad" applies perfectly to my skin as well. Since abandoning the habit of wearing heavy makeup—a lifestyle habit that affected my skin—and sticking to light base makeup, my skin looks much more comfortable. Seeing that the traces of past breakouts recorded in my care log have now almost completely disappeared, I am reminded once again of the value of letting go.
