Has anyone received laser treatment for freckles and blemishes?

As I get older, I'm worried because melasma and blemishes keep popping up.
They say toning lasers are good, but
Usually, how many sessions do I need to see noticeable results?
I'm also curious if there is a lot of pain or if scabs form after the procedure!
