Botox resistance... can it really happen?

It's been a while since I got Botox, and I saw some posts about resistance on a community forum. I'm wondering if once resistance develops, I'll never see the effects of Botox again, or if switching products would be okay. Is there a specific product that doesn't cause resistance? Please share any tips regarding treatment frequency or aftercare.

I go get an injection right when the effect starts to wear off, but people around me say that if you get it too often, you develop resistance and it won't work later on. I'm worried.
