When I first received the Fraxel treatment, I had very high expectations for the acne scar treatment. I believed that if I could improve the skin texture issues and pitted scars that had bothered me for a long time, even just a little, I could fully tolerate a certain amount of pain and a recovery period. In particular, having heard that Fraxel is highly effective among acne scar treatments, I chose it with relatively little hesitation.

Immediately after the procedure, my face turned red and felt stinging, but I wasn't too worried as I was told this was a normal reaction. However, problems began to arise as time passed. I had heard that it usually subsides within a few days to a week, but in my case, the redness did not disappear easily. Even after several weeks, my face remained red, and I was very self-conscious whenever I went out. In particular, my face would become redder whenever there were temperature changes or irritation, causing discomfort in my daily life.

Eventually, I visited the dermatologist again for a consultation and was told that redness can sometimes persist after Fraxel. From then on, I realized that when choosing acne scar treatments, I should not decide based solely on the effectiveness, but rather consider my skin condition and reaction much more carefully. I also learned that, in fact, since there are many different types of acne scar treatments with varying characteristics, it is difficult to say that a specific procedure is suitable for everyone.

I am currently looking into other acne scar treatments instead of Fraxel. I am focusing my research on procedures that induce skin regeneration with relatively minimal irritation or do not worsen redness. In particular, I am considering whether a method that allows for gradual improvement while protecting the skin barrier as much as possible would be more suitable for me.

Through this experience, I realized that when choosing an acne scar treatment, it is important to fully understand the characteristics of each procedure and the potential for side effects, rather than relying solely on reviews or popularity. Moving forward, I intend to approach this more cautiously and consistently manage my skin using safe methods suited to my skin.
