My skin troubles kept recurring, but now that I know the cause, it is getting better.
I've had recurring skin troubles for years, but honestly, I don't think I made any real effort to find the cause all this time. I just assumed that washing my face thoroughly and using supposedly good products would make it better, but that wasn't the case at all.
Then, as I studied skincare a bit, I discovered I had a pattern to my breakouts. They would invariably pop up the day after eating a late-night snack, on days when I was sleep-deprived, or during weeks of severe stress. It turned out the cause wasn't my cleansing method or the products I used, but my lifestyle habits. From then on, whenever breakouts appeared, I started recording what I ate and how much sleep I got the night before.
After I started keeping a record, I could definitely see something. If I went two or more consecutive days of sleeping less than six hours, something would break out around my chin almost without exception. So now, I prioritize sleep above all else. I realized, albeit belatedly, that going to bed early has the most direct impact on the skin, rather than any elaborate routine. There are still days when I can't resist the urge for late-night snacks, though ㅠㅠ. Still, the frequency of breakouts has definitely decreased compared to before.
I think it is more important to change the existing wrong things rather than trying to do more.
