I think whether your skin holds makeup well is ultimately decided the night before.
I've been feeling lately that whether makeup applies well or not depends more on the care taken the night before than on the morning of the day.
No matter how thoroughly I apply my basic skincare in the morning, if my skin was too dry the day before, my foundation would look cakey.
In particular, my cheeks are dry, so even if I applied a thin layer of foundation, it felt like it would crack by the afternoon.
So these days, I am focusing on staying hydrated before bed and trying to cut down on overly functional products.
Surprisingly, on days when my skin feels comfortable, my face seems to look neat even without wearing much makeup.
On the other hand, on days when my skin is sensitive, no matter what I apply, it looks cakey and dull.
How does everyone take care of their skin the day before an important appointment?
I am curious because some people use face masks, while others say it is better not to do anything at all.
