I heard an actress on TV washing her face with rice water, so hoping my skin might get a little whiter, I saved the water from washing rice instead of throwing it away. However, I had no idea that the water spoils quickly. When I washed my face with the rice water I had collected for a few days, I got red spots and it smelled terrible—it was a total disaster. My mom scolded me for wasting rice, and eventually, I even got a slap on the back of my head, haha. I looked it up later and found out that pesticides or dust can remain in the water from the first wash, so you must discard it and use the water from the second or third wash. Also, if you let it sit for days like I did, the water spoils quickly and is actually worse for your skin. I almost got a skin disease trying to get a whitening effect. I realized that just because something is natural doesn't mean it's good; I just suffered because I followed her advice without doing any research. I think it would be better to just buy a whitening ampoule from the store and apply it instead of going through all this trouble. My skin is really suffering again today.
