A record of my dry... skin condition today

Hello. It's raining. It seems the air has sucked all the moisture out of my skin. Every year, I go through this terrible situation where my skin gets drier the more humid the weather gets. In winter, since the air is dry, turning on a humidifier helped calm my skin down a bit, but why does my skin turn into a scouring pad in the summer, even when the air is humid? It's so dry that it's even kicking out my moisturizer. I think I'll have to apply a really thick layer of soothing gel before going to bed tonight.
