How do you manage sebum problems during the summer?
I've been really worried about sebum as the weather gets warmer, but after trying out various things, I've found a method that I've settled on.
The most effective thing was changing my morning routine. I used to use a foam cleanser in the morning, but it seemed to actually increase sebum production, so I switched to washing my face with water. Instead, I adjusted my evening cleansing routine to be more thorough, and I could definitely feel a reduction in sebum production the next morning.
It was only after experiencing it firsthand that I realized I shouldn't give up on hydration. When I reduced my moisturizing routine because I had a lot of sebum, it actually caused a rebound in sebum production. Now, even using only lightweight moisturizing products, my skin stays much more stable than before.
I was able to get it under control to some extent with home care, but I have also booked a consultation with a dermatologist for fundamental improvement. I realized that the right order is to try what I can do at home first, and then seek help from a professional.
