I heard that it is good to apply an ampoule beforehand, before using a face mask.
My skin has been so rough and dry lately, so I'm trying hard to do a face mask every day as part of my home care routine. In the past, I used to just roughly prep my skin with toner and apply the mask right away, but I heard somewhere that applying a highly concentrated ampoule beforehand maximizes the mask's effectiveness.
They say that since the pack covers the skin and creates a sealing effect, it helps the ingredients from the previously applied ampoule absorb deep into the skin as well, creating a synergistic effect...? I'm tempted. However, my skin barrier has been a bit weakened and sensitive lately, so I'm worried that if I put a highly concentrated ampoule on top of a nutrient-rich mask pack at once, my skin might become over-nourished and break out because it can't handle it.
