I started laser hair removal to prepare for summer. It's so convenient.
📌 1. Visited Branch: "Maypure Mokdong Branch"
Hello members! Haha. Are you all getting ready for summer? I've always been stressed about shaving with a razor every time I showered because it was so incredibly annoying and a hassle. Plus, shaving in a hurry would often leave cuts on my skin and cause recurring folliculitis, leaving those dark, scar-like marks on my legs and underarms that I really hated seeing. Plucking with tweezers caused ingrown hairs and seemed to ruin my skin even more, so I decided I couldn't go on like this. I resolved that this year, I would definitely go to a clinic and get laser hair removal. I found a place in Mokdong close to my house that has clean facilities and good reviews, so I went for my first session right away. Haha.
I was told to shave cleanly at home before visiting the clinic, so I shaved thoroughly the night before. During the consultation, the director kindly explained the principle of laser hair removal. He mentioned that since it uses laser wavelengths that react to melanin to selectively destroy only the hair follicles, I didn't need to worry too much about skin damage. After examining the thickness and density of my hair, I appreciated that he honestly told me that I would likely need about 5 to 10 sessions to achieve a clean result.
After changing clothes and lying down on the treatment bed, they covered my eyes and applied a generous amount of cold cooling gel. Perhaps because it flashed brightly and blew cold air every time the machine passed by, there was almost no pain. In the underarm area, where the hair is thick and dense, there was a slight stinging sensation—about the size of a rubber band snapping—but it was a really mild pain that was bearable haha. On my legs and arms, it just felt like a cool cooler and didn't feel any pain at all, so I received the treatment very comfortably.
They gave me very detailed instructions on post-treatment care, telling me to avoid saunas on the day of the session and to apply moisturizer well. It has been about three weeks since my first session, and the biggest change I've noticed is that my hair growth has slowed down noticeably. Also, the new hairs growing in aren't thick and stiff like pencil lead like before; instead, they are coming in thin, downy hairs, which is so fascinating. I have to shave much less often, so my quality of life has improved dramatically. I plan to complete the remaining recommended sessions so that I can confidently wear sleeveless tops and shorts this summer. If you are considering hair removal, I highly recommend starting as soon as possible!
