What type of laser is used to treat light brown blemishes on the cheeks?

I am wondering what kind of treatment is best for areas around my cheeks that look like a light brown color, although they are not very dark. Unlike pigmentation that appears clearly like large spots, some of these areas have blurry boundaries, so it is difficult to easily distinguish whether they are simple blemishes or melasma.

I have heard that even if the pigmentation looks the same, the management method varies depending on the cause, so I am having trouble choosing a treatment.

In this case, should I check the type of pigment first before selecting a laser?
