How are consultations and care divided when there is acne treatment or irritation from shaving?

While researching skincare for men's chin and philtrum areas, I became curious about the consultation process for distinguishing between redness after shaving and recurring skin troubles. Although they may look similar on the surface, I suspect the underlying causes are not the same. During an acne treatment consultation, do you assess shaving habits and skin condition first? I have not yet received treatment and would like to know what information I should prepare.

Would it be helpful to write down when I last changed my razor blade, the shaving products I use, and the date the breakouts first appeared? I am also wondering if I need to shave cleanly on the day of my visit, or if it is better to show you the irritated areas as they are. When planning the acne treatment, I would like to know if it is possible to soothe the red and stinging areas first and treat only the other areas.

Even if I have concerns regarding sebum or enlarged pores, I would like to receive a consultation where I can differentiate the necessary treatments rather than deciding on multiple procedures at once. After the acne treatment procedure, could I receive a guide on when I can start using electric shavers and wet shaving, and where to contact if I experience any cuts or discomfort? I am also curious if the exact methods and intervals are determined after examining my skin in person.
