I'm leaving a real review after getting my 3rd Pico Toning session for the summer lol
Hello everyone! As the season of strong sunlight approaches, the freckles and age spots on my cheekbones are starting to make a huge fuss. ㅠㅠ No matter how diligently I apply sunscreen, there is a clear limit to home care for pigmentation that has already formed. Covering them up with makeup is only fun for a day or two; since my makeup gets thick, it makes me look older and feels stuffy, so I finally paid to go to a dermatologist. Haha.
I chose 'Pico Toning.' I decided on this because the pulse speed is much faster than regular laser toning, so it causes less skin damage and breaks down pigments into smaller particles. When I went to the clinic for a consultation, they told me that my blemishes are spread across quite shallow layers, so they said I would see significant improvement if I consistently received the 10-session package. So, I signed up for the 10 sessions, and this is a fresh review after just completing my third session.
First off, the pain! They proceed without any anesthetic cream, and it feels like having your face snapped with a rubber band. Honestly, it would be a lie to say it didn't hurt ㅠㅠ. When they passed over areas with thin skin like around the eyes and nose, I found myself tearing up without even realizing it. Still, the procedure finishes quickly in about 5 minutes, so it is bearable haha. Immediately after the procedure, the areas where the laser was applied become slightly red and swollen, like a mosquito bite, but after applying a soothing pack, the swelling subsides almost completely within 1 to 2 hours, so it didn't interfere with my daily life at all.
To be honest, I didn't really notice much of an effect after the first or second session. In fact, I was incredibly worried because it seemed like the laser stimulation was making my blemishes look darker. However, about a week after my third session, I could definitely feel my overall skin tone becoming much clearer when I washed my face and looked in the mirror! The edges of my fine freckles also seem to have faded slightly, and I've definitely reduced the amount of concealer I use when applying makeup.
I heard that aftercare is even more important for toning, so I'm slathering on regenerating cream and making sure to apply sunscreen every single day, even on days I don't go out. Also, since I heard that pigmentation flares up more easily when you're dehydrated, I'm drinking plenty of water and applying a hydrating mask every other day. I still have 7 more sessions left, but I'm already looking forward to seeing if I can confidently go out without makeup once I complete all 10! If anyone has had pigmentation treatment done, please share your reviews~~
