How do you all combat dryness in winter? I'm sharing my personal skin care tips.
How are you all managing your home care in this dry, wintery indoor air? This morning, I was wearing a long padded coat on my way to work, and my hair got caught in the zipper. Looking in the mirror, my face looked as lifeless as my hair. Since the heaters can completely disrupt my oil-water balance, I've been re-evaluating my routine. One of the most basic skincare tips I'm currently practicing is to moisturize within three seconds of washing my face. I keep a mist or first essence in my bathroom and apply it before my skin completely dries. This is surprisingly effective at combating dryness. The second skincare tip I want to emphasize is to focus on layering rather than the amount of product. Instead of applying a thick layer of highly concentrated cream all at once, applying a thinner essence or toner three or four times is much more effective in terms of absorption. Even though it's a bit of a hassle, I recommend layering thinly. This is especially crucial during the end-of-year season, when you're likely to return home late or have drinks. Finally, be sure to check your sleeping environment. Even with a humidifier running, the air tends to get dry in the early morning hours, so applying a thin layer of sleeping pack before bed is a very useful skin care tip. It's 9 a.m. and I'm tempted to enjoy some leisurely time peeling a tangerine, but when I see my flabby face in the mirror, I feel compelled to tighten up my skincare routine. I'm curious to know if you all have your own thorough winter home care routines.
